This event is presented by and for the benefit of the Kempton Community Center, which provides year-round recreational activities for Albany Township and surrounding area residents of our great community. 18th Annual Fleetwood Rotary Club Show of Wheels

The Fleetwood Rotary is sponsoring this year’s SHOW OF WHEELS car show for the 18th year in the Fleetwood Park on Saturday, June 8, 2024. Registration starts at 8 AM and will go until 11:30 AM, with judging beginning at Noon. Awards will be handed out at 3:00 PM, and the event is held rain or shine. Other things to enjoy include:

• Goody Bags & Dash Plaques to the first 250 registered participants
• Reserved Club Parking (Pre-Registered)
• Pre-Registration by Sat. 6/1: $15.  After 6/1 and Day of Show: $20.
• Breakfast Sandwiches & Lunch Available
• Ice Cream & French Fries from 11 AM to 3 PM
• Flea Market/Vendor $20, Per Space  Must pre-register by June 3rd.

Taste of Kutztown

The Kutztown Rotary Charitable Foundation is hosting the 14th Annual Taste of Kutztown Wine & Beer Festival on Saturday, June 8 from 11:30 AM to 5:30 PM at the Kutztown Community Park. This event will showcase diverse regional wineries, distilleries, craft beer, eateries, artisans and live musicians. Leisurely stroll along the park’s shaded pathways and sample local wine and beer selections, taste the flavors of local food providers, shop local artisans and crafters and enjoy the performances of local musicians. Sunday Summer Concert Series

Mark your calendar for concerts on the following Sundays in the Fleetwood Park: June 2  – Fabulous Greaseband  |  June 9 – The Blue Cadillacs  |  June 16 – Red Hill Band  |  June 23 – Kato Duo  |  June 30 – Three and One Band (Classic Rock Covers)  |  July 7 – DOUBLE HEADER FINALE CONCERTS: All Weather Band (Country) Starting at 3 PM and Adriano (Rockabilly, Boogie-woogie, Oldies, Blues) Starting at 6 PM.

Concerts begin at 6 PM (unless otherwise noted), and the concession stand opens at 5 PM. Rain date for the concerts is the following Monday.  Dust off your lawn chair and blanket, and get ready to enjoy these free concerts under the summer stars! Presented by the Fleetwood Rec Board and Friends of Fleetwood Park.

 

Schuylkill Valley High School’s Mini-THON

Schuylkill Valley High School is hosting its annual Mini-THON on Friday, May 24. This multi-hour event will bring students together for a common cause – conquering childhood cancer. Last year, we raised over $15,745. Help us reach our goal of $18,000 this year by donating here.

2nd Annual Terry’s Legacy Charity Golf Tournament

The 2nd Annual Terry’s Legacy Charity Golf Tournament honors the life and passion of Terry Graul, local businessman and former President of Abilities in Motion. This golf tournament will take place on Sunday, May 19 at Rich Maiden Golf Course. Registration begins at 7:15 AM and shotgun starts at 8 AM. The cost is $95 per player, and all proceeds will benefit individuals with Spinal Cord Injuries as grants for their home modification needs. 34th Annual Boyertown Rotary Golf Outing

The 34th Annual Boyertown Rotary Golf Outing is being hosted at Bellewood Golf Club on Monday, May 13, 2024. Consider participating to support the Boyertown Rotary Foundation in raising funds to benefit our local youth and community projects, as well as Rotary International initiatives such as polio eradication and water purification. Major projects include the Fenstermacher Walking Trail and Exercise Campus at the Boyertown Community Park. This $225,000 addition to the park of a one mile walking trail together with two areas of age-related exercise equipment and an 18 hole Disc Golf Course is reflective of what the Boyertown Rotary Club is doing with your support. Another project currently supported by the Boyertown Rotary is the Dictionary Project, which provides a dictionary for every third grader in the Boyertown School District. The “Josh the Otter Program” introduces water safety to all kindergarteners in the district.

62nd Annual Fleetwood Fish Rodeo

The 62nd Annual Fish Rodeo is taking place at the Fleetwood Pond in the Fleetwood Park on May 11 and 12. Registration begins at 8 AM on Saturday, May 11 for ages 3-12. Age groups are as follows: Ages 3-6, ages 7-8, ages 9-10, and ages 11-12. Registration on Sunday, May 12 begins at 5:30 AM for ages 13-15, and fishing will take place from 6 AM to 3 PM. Adult fee is a $10 donation, and a valid fishing license is required.  Limit of 4 fish per person per day, and you must keep all trout – there are no releases.  Additional prizes will be awarded for catching a Palomino Fish in memory of our deceased members.  Fishing will be limited to children only from May 13 – 17.  On Saturday, May 18th the pond is open for both adult and children for fishing throughout the season. We hope to see you at this annual Fleetwood tradition!

Lyons Volunteer Fire Company Banquet

The Ladies Auxiliary of the Lyons Fire Company #1 is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping the Lyons Fire Company #1 truck crew raise funds to purchase new fire equipment / gear.
