30th Annual Chile Pepper Festival

The 30th Annual Chile Pepper Festival is taking place on Friday, September 11 and Saturday, September 12 from 9 AM to 6 PM at the William Delong Memorial Park in Bowers, PA. This event is held both days rain or shine! Jalapeno eating contest will take place on Saturday, September 12 at 1 PM. In addition to trophies, first place receives $100, second place receives $75, and third place receives $50. Guests will also enjoy music by The Chile Pepper Ramblers. 18th Annual Leesport Area Community Days

The Leesport Area Historical Society is presenting the 18th Annual Leesport Area Community Days on Friday, September 11 from 5 to 10 PM and Saturday, September 12 from 2 to 9 PM at the Leesport Playground. This is a cherished event that brings the community together for two unforgettable days of celebration, connection, and fun! Celebrate America’s 250th Birthday and commemorate the 25th anniversary of 9/11 with an Honor Guard presentation to kick off both days. A fireworks spectacular will conclude the event on Saturday evening at 9 PM. Enjoy a DJ, food trucks, games, Bingo, raffles, live music by Die Tired, Ole 97, Agent 99 and the Schuylkill Valley High School Band.

Music & Makers Market

On Saturday, September 12 and Sunday, September 13 the Mohnton-Cumru Lions Club is hosting their sixth annual Music & Makers Market from 10 AM until 5 Pm at the Mohnton Memorial Park. Several big name bands will be playing a variety of music including blues, country, jazz and rock. Artisans and craftspeople from the Tri-County area will display and sell original handcrafted items, such as jewelry, pottery, textiles, woodwork, food and more. Other activities will include a cornhole tournament for adults and Magic in Mohnton’s playground area, a bouncy house, face painting, balloons and aK-9 presentation for the kids. This event is free and open to the public.

Gathering At The Grove

On Sunday, September 13 the Blandon Lions Club is hosting their annual Gathering at the Grove. This is a free community event that includes live music, free food and ice cream. Three local bands will be playing this year: The Luke Hertzog Band, The Hannah Violet Trio, and Crow Hill Bluegrass.

12th Annual Hear Our Voices Team Holly 5K Run / Walk

Breast Cancer Support Services is hosting their annual Team holly 5K Run / Walk on Sunday, September 13 at Gring’s Mill Recreation Center. The race begins at 10 AM and the walk begins at 10:05 AM. Registration starts at 8:30 AM. This is a family friendly event that includes a kids’ zone, raffle baskets and entertainment from DJ Sir Hamilton Newton! Early registration deadline is August 14, and tickets will be $35 for adults, $125 for kids 9-17, and kids 8 and under are free. El Boricuazo – 2nd Annual Event

Palo Magazine is hosting a vibrant, Puerto Rican cultural celebration on Saturday, September 19 at the GoggleWorks Center for the Arts Thorn Alley Stage in Reading, PA. El Boricuazo is a family-friendly event that celebrates Puerto Rican culture through live music, traditional dance, authentic cuisine, art, dominoes, and community engagement. The event brings together hundreds of attendees from throughout Berks County and surrounding communities while highlighting the rich heritage and contributions of the Puerto Rican community.

The Barnstormers In Concert

Night At The Museum

The Reading Public Museum is hosting their 14th Annual “Night At The Museum” on Saturday, September 19 from 6 to 9 PM. This signature fundraising event offers a spectacular celebration of the fall exhibition season. This year, the museum is excited to unveil the highly anticipated exhibition Rockwell / Wyeth: Icons of Americana, which will feature the work of two of the most celebrated figures in American art, whose vivid illustrations captured the imaginations of Americans throughout the 20th century and is still admired today. The event will take inspiration from these artistic icons of Americana with a 1940s-50s theme, encouraging attendees to step back in time to the post-WWII era of booming optimism, Saturday Evening Post covers, and the rise of middle-class suburban life. Tickets are available for purchase here and include all-American food stations, an open bar, silent auction, live music, antique cars, and era-inspired activities.
