Freezin For A Reason

The Freezin For A Reason Veterans Benefit Ride is taking place rain or shine on January 1. All vehicles are welcome to participate. The cost is $15 per person, and children 10 and under are $5 each. You are invited to join us for the ride or the dinner. Registration for the ride begins at 10 AM, and the ride begins at Noon from the Hamburg American Legion and ends at the Topton Legion Post 217. Attendees can enjoy dinner here at the Topton Legion from 1 to 4 PM. Pork and sauerkraut with sides will be served. A silent auction and 50 / 50 drawing will also take place, and all money raised will be donated to Veterans At The Lebanon VA Medical Center. Tickets for this event can be purchased at both the Topton Legion and Hamburg Legion. Thanks to the Topton and Hamburg Legion Riders, as well as the Rebel Brotherhood for hosting this event.

Picture Berks Healthy 2026

The Berks Community Health Center’s Annual Picture Berks Healthy event is taking place on March 16 this year from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at The Doubletree by Hilton in Reading. Each year, they recognize an outstanding individual and a community partner who have demonstrated extraordinary dedication to BCHC’s mission through their time, talent and treasure. This year BCHC is honoring Donald Smith, a retired lawyer who played a key role in BCHC’s beginnings as one of their founders and also served on the Board. They are also recognizing The United Way of Berks County, who has played a key role in BCHC’s founding and has continued to support them in many ways throughout the years. Oley Valley Community Education Foundation’s Academy Awards of Excellence Gala

The Oley Valley Community Education Foundation is celebrating its 30th Anniversary in 2026 with the inaugural Academy Awards of Excellence Gala on Friday, March 27 from 6 Pm to 10 PM at The Berkshire Country Club. In addition to celebrating thirty years of positively impacting youth of the Oley Valley, Gary Weller, a graduate of Oley Valley High School, long-term resident, and founding member and former Trustee of OVCEF, will be honored. This gala will unite educators, supporters, and community members who are dedicated to enhancing the educational experience within the Oley Valley School District by helping to raise monies to fund annual scholarships and teacher education grants within the district through a silent auction and raffles. Rejoicing Spirits Services & Fellowship

Rejoicing Spirits of Eastern Berks County invites anyone to attend their services and fellowship times on the first Sunday of every month at 3:00 PM at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ. Parking is located behind the church with an accessible entrance from the parking lot. All are welcome to each 30 to 40 minute, no-shush ecumenical worship service that enriches the lives of all people, especially the differently-abled, their caregivers, families and friends. Rejoicing Spirits includes music, playing musical instruments, joyous singing, opportunities to participate, brief and meaningful messages, and the chance to connect with others.
