The 35th Annual Kutztown Fools Run

The Optimist Club of Kutztown is hosting their annual Fools Run on Saturday, March 28. The race will feature two distances: the Sally Miksiewicz Memorial 5K and the Bob Focht Memorial 10-mile run. There is also the Steve O’Neil Memorial two-mile walk, a non-competitive event. Enjoy a great day through the countryside of Kutztown to benefit the Donald Peters Memorial Scholarship Fund administered by the Optimist Club of Kutztown Foundation. Funds raised during this event will benefit high school seniors from the Brandywine Heights, Fleetwood Area, Kutztown Area and Hamburg Area School Districts. Olivet Boys & Girls Club of Reading & Berks County’s Leaders & legends Gala

Olivet Boys & Girls Club of Reading & Berks County is hosting their annual Leaders & Legends Gala on Monday, March 30 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Reading. The keynote speaker for this year’s event is Herm Edwards, Eagles’ Cornerback famous for the “Miracle at the Meadowlands,” former NFL Coach and acclaimed ESPN analyst.

2026 Take the Lead Berks County

The Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania are hosting the 2026 Take the Lead Berks County on Tuesday, April 14 at the Redner’s Event Center from 5 to 8 PM. This year, the theme is centered around the Girl Scouts highest awards and the Take Action projects produced by girls whose aim is to better their communities and the lives of others. The following four individuals will be honored at the event: Meggan Hannigan, AVP of Development Advancement at Alvernia University, Radha Pyati, PhD, Chancellor & Dean of Penn State University, Monica Reyes, VP for Programs & Initiatives at Berks County Community Foundation, and Karen Wang, MD, FAAP, Chief Medical Officer at Berks Community Health Center. 2026 Birdhouse Challenge

Habitat for Humanity of Berks County is hosting their Annual Birdhouse Challenge, which turns 10 this year, on Tuesday, April 21 starting at 5:30 PM at the Reading Country Club. The YMCA’s Breakfast of Champions

The YMCA of Reading & Berks County is hosting their Annual Breakfast of Champions for Youth on Tuesday, May 12 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Reading from 7 to 9 AM. This morning is dedicated to celebrating the leaders, volunteers, partners and young people who embody the Y’s mission of strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. This signature event highlights the impact of the Y’s programs, the stories that inspire us, and the champions who help move their mission forward. Opportunity House’s Annual Golf Outing

Opportunity House is hosting their Annual Golf Outing on Monday, June 22 at the Berkshire Country Club. Registration, networking and lunch will take place starting at 10:30 AM, with a shotgun start beginning at 12 PM. At 5 PM guests will enjoy a cocktail and award reception. Individual golfers can participate for $350 and a foursome is available for $1,400. Each golfer who participates will receive a round of golf, greens fee, use of locker room facilities, driving range and putting green, and a golf cart, as well as a boxed lunch, cocktail reception and awards ceremony.
