The Camel Project’s ChalkPalooza Event

The Camel Project, in collaboration with the City of Reading and Department of Public Works, is hosting their annual ChalkPalooza Event on Saturday, September 6 from 10 AM to 2 PM at Renninger’s Antique and Farmer’s Market. This chalk and bubble festival also includes a color run from 11 AM to 1 PM and car show, as well as music, magic, balloon art and more. Join the fun for a family friendly day of creativity and kindness! We invite participants of all ages to express themselves creatively in a safe, family-supportive environment. Chalk and bubbles are provided free. Pre-registration for chalk is free for all ages. It is not required. You can register at the event, but pre-registration is recommended to guarantee you’ll get a space and free chalk for your art. You can also bring your own chalk. To pre-register, go here. Fleetwood Blues Festival Pennsylvania

Friends of Fleetwood Parks is excited to host the new Fleetwood Blues Festival Pennsylvania at the Evergreen Club. Enjoy the blues from 2 to 6 PM on Sunday, September 7. Tickets are only $10 at the gate. Children 12 and under are free. Food and beverages will be available for purchase, and no outside food or drinks are allowed. This event will feature the Dave Mell Blues Band, The Blue Cadillacs and Eddie Bluestone.

2nd Annual Youth Volunteer Corps 5K Walk for Compassion

Attend a powerful community event where youth, families, and supporters come together to promote compassion, service, and leadership in Berks County. This isn’t just a walk — it’s a movement for youth empowerment! The walk starts at 10 AM at Alvernia University. This event is part of a nationwide weekend of action where Youth Volunteer Corps (YVC) programs across the country come together to walk for a more compassionate world. Here in Berks County, our walk focuses on empowering youth and investing in a brighter, kinder future. By joining the YVC 5K Walk for Compassion, your team will empower youth, build team spirit, boost community engagement and social impact, and make a real difference. Your participation will directly benefit young people and the community we all care about, as your support will help to expand the Youth Volunteer Corps Reading programs and create other meaningful service opportunities for local youth. Knights of Columbus Light of Christ Council 6th Annual Golf Tournament

Enjoy the Knights of Columbus Light of Christ Council’s 6th Annual Charity Golf Tournament on Monday, September 8 at The Manor Golf Course with a 1 PM shotgun start and registration starting at 11 AM. Proceeds benefit St. Ignatius Loyola School, Mary’s Shelter, John Paul II Center, and Opportunity House. The tournament fee of $125 per golfer or $500 per foursome includes all greens fees, carts and practice balls, along with gift bags, lunch, snacks, beverages throughout the tournament, dinner, door prizes, hole-in-one contests and awards for the top three teams following the event. Special contests, mulligan packages, and 50 / 50 raffle tickets will also be available for sale at the registration table. It’s Okay Not To Be Okay 5K / Walk

NAMI Berks County PA is a local nonprofit dedicated to providing support, education, and advocacy for individuals with mental health conditions and their loved ones. Their ability to offer ample services free of charge relies on the support of our community. They are hosting their third annual 5K Run / walk titled “It’s Okay To Not Be Okay” on Saturday, September 13 at 9:30 AM at Gring’s Mill Recreation Area. Blandon Lions Club Gathering At The Grove

The Blandon Lions Club presents their Annual Gathering at the Grove on Sunday, September 14 at Maiers Grove Park. This free community event will include live music, free food and ice cream. This year will include two local bands – The Hannah Violet Trio and the Crow Hill Bluegrass Band. More info to follow as the event gets closer!

The Muhlenberg Lions Club is hosting their 28th Annual Fundraiser Golf Tournament at Rich Maiden Golf Course on Monday, September 15. This event will be held rain or shine and helps the Lions Club support the following initiatives: Muhlenberg Academic Achievement Awards, Two Annual Scholarship Awards to Muhlenberg High School Seniors, Beacon Lodge, AltruVision (A Lions Bank), Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Leader Dogs for the Blind, the Muhlenberg Community Library, the Muhlenberg Area Ambulance Association, Vision Resource Center of Berks County, and the Muhlenberg High School Leo Club. 8th Annual Crime Alert Berks County Awards Breakfast

On Thursday, September 25, 2025 Crime Alert Berks County is celebrating another successful year of fighting crime at their 8th Annual Awards Breakfast. Taking place from 7:15 AM to 9:00 AM at the Redner’s Event Center at First Energy Stadium,  this event honors the recipients of the Barry E. Rohrbach President’s Award, which is being presented to Michael Duff. The Law Enforcement of the Year Award will go to David Bentz, and Eric B. White will receive the Lifetime Service Award.
