The 13th Annual Guts & Glory Health & Wellness Expo is taking place on Saturday, October 3 from 11 AM to 3 PM at Jim Dietrich Park! This event is a free, community-wide celebration of health for people of all ages and walks of life! It showcases a farmers market, educational booths, small businesses, nonprofits, fresh locally sourced food, live cultural performances, fitness zones, health screenings, live yoga classes, massage, wellness experts, active engagement with First Responders, and an interactive human colon exhibit, to name a few features. This event is designed to educate the health curious, elevate the understanding of the health conscious, and raise community awareness of the importance of digestive health through the free exchange of information and resources. This event aims to bring about positive impact to improve the lives of the residents of Berks County by inspiring and compelling people to eat and live better. Stop by this block party celebration, and use all of your senses to inspire and motivate yourself to be the healthiest you can be. The Annual Fleetwood Main Street Fair is taking place on Saturday, October 3 from 9 AM to 2 PM. All proceeds from this event are used for a scholarship fund that benefits two graduating seniors at Fleetwood, as well as in the form of a donation to a local nonprofit. In addition to multiple local vendors set up along main street, the day will also include delicious food, two bands performing throughout the day, an apple pie eating contest, and more! Be sure to stop by Fleetwood Bank’s booth near the ATM outside of the main branch.

CASA of Berks County is hosting their Gala of Light fundraiser on Saturday, October 3 at Building 24! The reception and silent auction will begin at 5 PM and entertainment, a live art auction presented by the Berks Art Alliance, and awards will start at 6 PM, ending at 8 PM. This special evening will honor Judge Arthur Grim with their Visionary Award and recognize Berks Hearing Officer, Narcy Hughes, with their Champion for Children Award. Special guests are the Ortiz Family who adopted Lucian and Alex. The family and two boys were guests of our 2024 Gala and are returning for our Forever Family Celebration. Be part of this enchanting evening of camaraderie, inspiration and giving that ensures CASA’s essential work continues. The Oley Valley Community Education Foundation is hosting their annual “Swing Fore Education” Golf Tournament at Golden Oaks Golf Course on Monday, October 5. Many local businesses, community members, and education supporters come together for a great day on the green — all while raising vital funds for student enrichment programs to benefit education in the Oley Valley! Vision Resource Center‘s upcoming Dine in the Dark event is taking place on Thursday, October 8 from 6 to 9 PM at the Berkshire Country Club, hosted by the Vision Resource Center of Berks County and Kutztown University Teachers of the Visually Impaired. This special evening will bring our community together to foster awareness and support for blind and low-vision individuals, empowering children and adults through vital programs and resources. The State Theatre Preservation Society is hosting a 10th anniversary fundraiser by presenting The Right Price Game Show, Boyertown Edition, on both Saturday, October 10 at 7 PM and Sunday, October 11 at 1 PM. A fun and entertaining event with fun and fabulous prizes. Christin Smith Myers will be hosting the event, and the wheel is built and ready to spin! They will also be holding a raffle prize drawings for the audience between games. St. Paul’s U.C.C. Guild is hosting their annual Takeout Pot Pie day on Friday, October 16 from 1 to 5 PM. Pot pie is $11 for a quart or $6 for a pint. Place your order by calling or texting 610.334.1794. All orders are due by September 25.  Pick up will take place in the social room of the church. Baked goods will also be available for purchase.

St. Paul’s U.C.C. Guild is hosting their annual Pot Pie Supper, bake sale, and silent auction on Saturday, October 17 from 3:30 to 6:30 PM. The dinner is $13 for adults and children 5 and under are free. In addition to chicken pot pie, the dinner includes corn, coleslaw, bread and a roll, as well as drinks and desserts. Homemade baked goods will be for sale, and the church’s annual silent auction will take place, too. Tickets will be sold at the door, and the event is handicapped accessible.

The Oley Valley Elementary School PTO is hosting their Second Annual Basket Raffle Fundraiser on Saturday, November 7 at the Oley Valley Elementary School. Doors open at Noon and ticket drawings begin at 2 PM. General admission is $25, and tickets can be purchased here or by emailing [email protected]. Tickets include two sheets of tickets (25 chances per sheet) and additional sheets of tickets will be available for purchase. Food and drinks will also be for sale.

On Saturday, November 7 from 9 AM to 1 PM, Christ Mertz Lutheran Church is hosting their Fall & Christmas Craft Show. Jewelry, art, homemade candles, home decor and more will be available for purchase! Most vendors will only be accepting cash, so please come prepared. Troop and Pack 103 are hosting a local 5K race and fun walk that is open to the entire community on Sunday, Novemeber 22 starting at 9:30 AM. The Reading Symphony Orchestra is hosting their annual NYE Special on December 31 at 7:30 PM at the Santander Performing Arts Center! Sing it. Sway to it. Ring in the New Year with it. Join the Shoemakersville Fire Company No. 1 for their delicious Shrimp Night from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM on the last Monday of every Month, unless it falls on a holiday! For $15 you will enjoy 1 pound of steamed shrimp and coleslaw. This popular monthly fundraiser has become a community favorite, with many attendees calling it the best steamed shrimp around! The event is open to both members and non-members, so bring your family, friends, and neighbors. This fundraising dinner is take out only; It’s as simple as getting in line and ordering from your car. No pre-order sales will be accepted, and the event always takes place rain or shine. Cash only, please. Proceeds from this event help fund life-saving equipment, training, and other resources needed to support Shoemakersville Fire Company’s emergency response mission. As a 100% volunteer organization, community support plays an important role in helping them continue serving the Shoemakersville Borough, Perry Township, and surrounding communities.

Rejoicing Spirits of Eastern Berks County invites anyone to attend their services and fellowship times on the first Sunday of every month at 3:00 PM at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ. Parking is located behind the church with an accessible entrance from the parking lot. All are welcome to each 30 to 40 minute, no-shush ecumenical worship service that enriches the lives of all people, especially the differently-abled, their caregivers, families and friends. Rejoicing Spirits includes music, playing musical instruments, joyous singing, opportunities to participate, brief and meaningful messages, and the chance to connect with others. Fleetwood’s Finest Spring Gala is back! This new tradition honors organizations and individuals who have made a lasting impression on Fleetwood. The Fleetwood Cadillac Award will be given to an organization for their extraordinary community service, and the Fleetwood Hometown Hero award will be awarded to local individuals who have made a significant, lasting impact or provided extraordinary service to the Fleetwood area. This event is taking place at the Fleetwood Fire Company Banquet Hall on Saturday, April 3, 2027. Tickets go on sale on September 16, which is the same time that the honorees will be announced.
