2025 Pennsylvania State Steel Challenge Championship

The Pricetown Rifle & Pistol Club is hosting the 2025 Pennsylvania State Steel Challenge Championship, which is a sanctioned tier 2 USPSA / SCSA Championship Match. The event is taking place at 100 Club Lane in Fleetwood, PA starting Friday, May 16 and ending Sunday, May 18. The match entry fee is $50. Breast Cancer Support Services of Berks 10th Anniversary Fashion Show & Luncheon

Did you know that each year more than 300 Berks County women and men are diagnosed with breast cancer? Since 1994, BCSS has offered a hand of friendship to those affected by this diagnosis. Breast Cancer Support Services of Berks is hosting their 10th Anniversary Fashion Show & Luncheon on Sunday, May 18 at the DoubleTree Hotel by Hilton Reading. The fashion show will showcase Breast Cancer survivors. Tickets are $75 per person and includes a plated luncheon, silent auction and VIP trips. Reservations are limited to 400 people. 3rd Annual Terry’s Legacy Charity Golf Tournament

The 3rd Annual Terry’s Legacy Charity Golf Tournament honoring the life and passion of Terry Graul, local businessman and former President of Abilities in Motion, is scheduled for Sunday, May 18 at Rich Maiden Golf Club. Terry’s Legacy is a 501 (c) (3) charitable organization that provides grants to individuals with Spinal Cord Injuries to complete home modifications to enable them to live independently. Registration for the event begins at 7:15 AM with a Shotgun start at 8 AM. Cost is $95 per person, $380/Foursome. 1st, 2nd & 3rd place teams receive cash prizes. Flight winners will receive donated prizes. This year, there will be MULTIPLE Hole-In-One contests (including a trip to the 2025-26 SUPER BOWL), Longest Drive, 1’ From The Pin, and Putting contests. Made to order breakfast prior to tee off, snacks and beverages while playing, and lunch (immediately following the tournament) will be served. Furever Friends Walk in the Park

Friend Inc. is hosting a family-fun charity event to help end pet hunger on Sunday, May 18 at the Kutztown Park! This event will be held rain or shine. Check-in begins at 10 AM, and the walk starts at 11 AM in the lower brick pavilion. Awards and prizes will be given to the top five fundraising teams and the Best Dressed Dog, the Yappiest Dog, the Happiest Dog, the Best Puppy Dog Eyes, and Most Spirited. Pre-register by clicking here now through May 17 for $35, and register the day of the event for $45 per walker. All proceeds will be used to support Friend, Inc. Community Services Pet Pantry.

35th Annual Boyertown Rotary Golf Outing

On Monday, May 19 the Boyertown Rotary Foundation will host its 35th Annual Boyertown Rotary Golf Outing at Bellewood Golf Club. Your support will help raise funds to benefit the organization’s local youth and community projects, as well as Rotary International initiatives such as polio eradication and water purification. Major projects include Fenstermacher Walking Trail and Exercise Campus at the Boyertown Community Park. This $225,000 addition to the park was beneficial for all. Currently, the Boyertown Rotary Foundation is working on a project to upgrade the pickleball courts, see that a dictionary is provided to every third grader in the Boyertown School District, introducing water safety to all kindergarteners in the district, and fund the student exchange program, and more. Vision Resource Center of Berks County’s Annual Golf Tournament

Support Vision Resource Center of Berks County during their Annual golf tournament fundraiser at Galen Hall Golf Club on Wednesday, May 21. Blandon Fire Company 3rd Annual Cornhole Tournament

On Saturday, May 31 the Blandon Fire Company is hosting their 3rd Annual Cornhole Tournament at Maier’s Grove. Check in will take place from 9 to 9:30 AM, and bags fly at 10 AM. The tournament is run by Keystone Berks Cornhole and features three brackets: Competitive, Social and a new one specifically made for fire departments! The cost is $60 per team, and payouts are based on total registrations. Cash prizes and double elimination to take place. Food, drinks, raffles and a 50 / 50 will also be available. Fleetwood Recreation Board’s Sunday Concert Series

Throughout the Summer, the Fleetwood Rec Board will be presenting their Annual Summer Concert Series at the Fleetwood Park bandshell. All concerts start at 6 PM on the following Sundays in June and July, with an additional new concert being added in August. These events are free and open to the public to attend. Shoemakersville Children’s Fair and Parade

On Saturday, June 7 the annual Shoemakersville Children’s Fair and Parade will take place at 10 AM at the Shoemakersville Park. This event raises money for park equipment as well as money to cover the operations expenses so the Shoemakersville Recreation Board can offer a FREE Summer Park program to local children. Over eight weeks, children from Shoemakersville, Perry Township and the surrounding area can enjoy crafts, games, athletic tournaments, social activities, and other outdoor fun. The theme of this year’s Children’s Fair and Parade to help raise money for the Summer Park program is Candyland. The parade starts and ends at the park and is followed by a fair with games, food, and live entertainment until 2 PM.

2025 Kempton Fair

The Kempton Fair, presented by and for the benefit of the Kempton Community Center, is taking place Thursday, June 12 – Saturday, June 14, 2025. The fair features livestock and other exhibits, a midway with kid and adult rides, games and food. There’s live music, fireworks, truck and tractor pulls, vendors, crafters and artisans, a beer and wine garden and more. The Kempton Fair is one of the Kempton Community Center’s largest fundraisers for the year which helps with capitalization projects among the buildings and grounds. The Kempton Community Center is a non-profit, completely volunteer organization providing recreation and events for the Kempton community and surrounding area.

The Fleetwood Rotary Club is hosting their 19th Annual Show of Wheels on Saturday, June 14 at the Fleetwood Community Park. Pretzel City Rod & Custom Car Club’s 38th Annual Rod Run

Pretzel City Rod & Custom Car Club is hosting their annual Rod Run on Sunday, June 15 at the Oley Fairgrounds. Show times are from 9 AM to 3 PM, and all show cars and trucks are welcome! Registration is taking place from 9 AM to Noon, and the first 250 vehicles will receive dash plaques. This event is being hosted rain or shine, and 20×20 vendor spaces are available for $10 each. 48th Annual Flag Day Concert

On Tuesday, June 15 at 7 PM be sure to stop by the Kutztown Community Park to enjoy the 48th Annual Flag Day Concert hosted by the Kutztown Community Choir. This event is held rain or shine in the park’s bandshell. An orchestra directed by Dustin Shirk, instrumental music teacher at Kutztown Area Middle School and High Schools, will open the musical portion of the program with selections of light classical and popular music. Students from Kutztown Area High School are being selected as soloists to perform numbers with the orchestra. The Kutztown Community Choir will present selections of popular music, both new and old. The patriotic theme for the evening will kick off with the presentation of the colors by the color guard of the Ray A. Master Post 217 Topton American Legion. Patriotic music during the evening will include a medley of songs entitled, “An American Tribute,” a medley of service songs: “Armed Forces Salute,” and Sousa’s popular, “Stars and Stripes Forever.”

80,000 Acre Celebration Banquet & Ball Game

The Reading Fightin Phils, are excited to partner with Berks County Agriculture, who will sponsor the America’s Classic Ballpark Commemorative Cup for the first 2,000 adults, on Wednesday, June 18, against the Hartford Yard Goats. First pitch for the game is at 7 p.m. The County of Berks, through its Department of Agriculture, will celebrate the strength and impact of the local agricultural industry with a special event on June 18, featuring the game and cup sponsorship, along with a recognition banquet at Redner’s Event Center. Agriculture contributes over $1 billion annually to Berks County’s economy, supporting key sectors such as farm supply and food manufacturing. To honor the industry’s importance and those who sustain it, the county will recognize preserved farm owners during the banquet.

Berks County is a leader in farmland preservation, ranking #2 in Pennsylvania and among the top in the nation. This year, the County reached a major milestone—80,000 acres of farmland permanently protected through the Agricultural Land Preservation Program. These efforts help ensure a sustainable future, secure local food systems, and protect the county’s agricultural heritage. The Berks County Farm Bureau will enhance the event with live farm animals and educational activities. They will be joined by the Berks County Dairy Princesses and representatives from the Berks County Fair, bringing added charm and community spirit to the celebration.

Greater Governor Mifflin League’s Community Days

The 49th Annual Greater Governor Mifflin League Community Days is being held from Friday, June 27 to Saturday, July 5 at Governor Mifflin Intermediate School. This 9-day event is a legendary community fair that features food, games, rides and entertainment – including the spectacular fireworks finale. Best of all, admission is completely free! The Greater Governor Mifflin League is a nonprofit organization devoted to supporting the community. Since 1976, the GGML has given back to the community in the form of contributions to local fire companies, ambulance associations, scout troops, school projects, community projects, scholarships, and more. The Berks County Fair

The annual Fleetwood Community Carnival is taking place at the Fleetwood Park from Tuesday, July 15 – Saturday, July 19 this year. This carnival benefits many organizations throughout the Fleetwood area, such as the Fleetwood Fire Company, the Fleetwood Public Library, the Fleetwood Rotary Club and the Lions Club, to mention a few. The carnival includes amusement rides, great homemade food, entertainment, and bingo each night. Fireworks will take place on Friday night.

Kutztown Day

Every year on the first Sunday in August, since 1907, the Borough of Kutztown has celebrated heritage, community, traditions, and our family and neighbors at the annual Kutztown Day Celebration in the Kutztown Park. The tradition has been continued from year-to-year by the concerted efforts of the Kutztown Day Committee. This year’s event is scheduled for Sunday, August 3. The event starts at 12:30 PM and will include community and civic groups with displays, first responders demonstrations, Bingo, a cake baking contest, cake walk, disc golf, cornhole games, Quoit tournament, games and rides for the youth. Multiple concerts are scheduled in the band shell, with food vendors and other displays culminating with a fireworks display to close the festivities around 9:15 PM.

Summer Parrot Daze

The Berks County Parrot Head Club is hosting Summer Parrot Daze on August 23 at Beverly Hills Beach Bar to benefit Hannah’s Hope Ministries. Founded in 2017, Hannah’s Hope ministries provides support for homeless single mother-led families in Berks County. Since their inception, they have welcomed over 96 women and their dependent children into their nurturing environment to help empower these families. Enjoy music from Noon to 8 PM with Caribbean Sunset Band from 12:30 to 3:30 PM and  Jimmy and the Parrots performing from 4 to 8 PM.  Seats are $50 plus taxes and fees and includes a lunch and dinner buffet. 29th Annual Chile Pepper Festival

The Camel Project’s ChalkPalooza Event

The Camel Project, in collaboration with the City of Reading and Department of Public Works, is hosting their annual ChalkPalooza Event on Saturday, September 6 from 10 AM to 2 PM at Renninger’s Antique and Farmer’s Market. This chalk and bubble festival also includes a color run from 11 AM to 1 PM and car show, as well as music, magic, balloon art and more. Join the fun for a family friendly day of creativity and kindness! We invite participants of all ages to express themselves creatively in a safe, family-supportive environment. Chalk and bubbles are provided free. Pre-registration for chalk is free for all ages. It is not required. It’s Okay Not To Be Okay 5K / Walk

NAMI Berks County PA is a local nonprofit dedicated to providing support, education, and advocacy for individuals with mental health conditions and their loved ones. Their ability to offer ample services free of charge relies on the support of our community. They are hosting their third annual 5K Run / walk titled “It’s Okay To Not Be Okay” on Saturday, September 13 at 9:30 AM at Gring’s Mill Recreation Area. The Blandon Lions Club presents their Annual Gathering at the Grove on Sunday, September 14 at Maiers Grove Park. This free community event will include live music, free food and ice cream. The Muhlenberg Lions Club is hosting their 28th Annual Fundraiser Golf Tournament at Rich Maiden Golf Course on Monday, September 15. This event will be held rain or shine and helps the Lions Club support the following initiatives: Muhlenberg Academic Achievement Awards, Two Annual Scholarship Awards to Muhlenberg High School Seniors, Beacon Lodge, AltruVision (A Lions Bank), Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Leader Dogs for the Blind, the Muhlenberg Community Library, the Muhlenberg Area Ambulance Association, Vision Resource Center of Berks County, and the Muhlenberg High School Leo Club. 8th Annual Crime Alert Berks County Awards Breakfast

On Thursday, September 25, 2025 Crime Alert Berks County is celebrating another successful year of fighting crime at their 8th Annual Awards Breakfast. Taking place from 7:15 AM to 9:00 AM at the Redner’s Event Center at First Energy Stadium,  this event honors the recipients of the Barry E. Rohrbach President’s Award, which is being presented to Michael Duff. The Law Enforcement of the Year Award will go to David Bentz, and Eric B. White will receive the Lifetime Service Award. 12th Guts & Glory Digestive & Wellness Expo

The 12th Annual Guts & Glory Digestive & Wellness Expo is taking place on Saturday, October 4 from 11 AM to 3 PM at it’s new location – Jim Dietrich Park! This event is a free, community-wide celebration of health for people of all ages and walks of life! It showcases a farmers market, educational booths, small businesses, nonprofits, fresh locally sourced food, live cultural performances, fitness zones, health screenings, live yoga classes, massage, wellness experts, active engagement with First Responders, and an interactive human colon exhibit, to name a few features. This event is designed to educate the health curious, elevate the understanding of the health conscious, and raise community awareness of the importance of digestive health through the free exchange of information and resources. This event aims to bring about positive impact to improve the lives of the residents of Berks County by inspiring and compelling people to eat and live better. Dine in the Dark

On Thursday, October 9 the Vision Resource Center of Berks County is hosting their annual Dine in the Dark fundraiser at The Berkshire Country Club. This is an enlightening dining experience to increase awareness of living with visual impairment. The positive community support of this evening’s event allowed the Vision Resource Center of Berks County and the Kutztown University Visual Impairment Program the continued opportunity to help blind and visually impaired children and adults in our community. Rejoicing Spirits Services & Fellowship

First Sunday of Every Month

Rejoicing Spirits of Eastern Berks County invites anyone to attend their services and fellowship times on the first Sunday of every month at 3:00 PM at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ. Parking is located behind the church with an accessible entrance from the parking lot. All are welcome to each 30 to 40 minute, no-shush ecumenical worship service that enriches the lives of all people, especially the differently-abled, their caregivers, families and friends. Rejoicing Spirits includes music, playing musical instruments, joyous singing, opportunities to participate, brief and meaningful messages, and the chance to connect with others. Join them for snacks and fellowships immediately following each service.
