Rejoicing Spirits Services & Fellowship

First Sunday of Every Month

Rejoicing Spirits of Eastern Berks County invites anyone to attend their services and fellowship times on the first Sunday of every month at 3:00 PM at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ. Parking is located behind the church with an accessible entrance from the parking lot. All are welcome to each 30 to 40 minute, no-shush ecumenical worship service that enriches the lives of all people, especially the differently-abled, their caregivers, families and friends. Rejoicing Spirits includes music, playing musical instruments, joyous singing, opportunities to participate, brief and meaningful messages, and the chance to connect with others. Join them for snacks and fellowships immediately following each service. Bruce K. Betz 41st Annual Jazz in the Valley Festival

Enjoy a full day of jazz music performed by several local high school and junior high school bands. This fundraising event is sponsored by the Oley Valley Music Association. Tickets at the door will be $8 each, and the event starts at 12:30 PM. Student performers will not need to pay for a ticket. Food and drinks will also be available for purchase at this event, which is taking place at the Oley Valley Middle School.

 

 

Kutztown Community Partnership Annual Meeting

Kutztown Community Partnership (KCP) is excited to announce that it will be holding its Annual Meeting on Thursday, February 29th at 6 PM at The Kutztown Strand Theatre.  The Annual Meeting is an opportunity for KCP to review the accomplishments of the past year and present their vision for 2024. KCP will also be honoring the volunteer and the community organization of the year. This year’s annual meeting is extra special because it is the official launch of KCP’s capital campaign to support the Kutztown Strand Renovation Project.

Over the years, Kutztown Community Partnership has been fortunate to receive tremendous support from generous partners and the community, enabling them to carry out their mission and make a meaningful impact. Kutztown Community Partnership is committed to continuing to build community, forge positive relationships, and foster cultural and economic collaboration.

The Kutztown Strand Renovation Capital Campaign will enable KCP to move forward in a project that is special to the community.  With the funds raised, revitalizing this beloved historic theatre can become a reality.

Kutztown Area School Music Association’s Spaghetti Dinner

Stop by the Kutztown Area Middle School anytime from 5 to 8 PM on Friday, March 1 to enjoy a delicious spaghetti dinner and performances by KASD musicians! There will be raffle prizes, live music, a bake sale and full dinner options. The spaghetti options include meat sauce, marinara and gluten free. Meals are $12 each, and there is a $5 admission fee for non-dining guests. All proceeds will benefit the Kutztown Area School Music Association.

31st Annual Pot Pie Benefit Dinner

Sunday March 10, 2024

The Oley Valley Community Benefit Association is hosting their 31st Annual Pot Pie Benefit Dinner at the Oley Valley Elementary School on Sunday, March 10, 2024 from 11:30 AM to 3 :00 PM. In the event of inclement weather, the event will be rescheduled for the same time on Sunday, March 17. The cost to attend is $15 for adults, $6 for children ages 4 – 10, and free for children 4 and under. All proceeds benefit those in need who live and /or work within the Oley Valley School District.  While you’re enjoying your Pot Pie, musical groups from the Oley Valley Music Department will be sharing their talents. There will be handicap parking / drop off in the rear of the Oley Valley Elementary School. We also offer takeout which begins at 11:00 AM. We provide all containers. Tickets can be purchased at the door, from several businesses within the Oley Valley or from any committee member. Learn more here!

IM ABLE’s 2024 BASH Fundraiser

The BASH is IM ABLE’s annual fundraiser taking place on Saturday, March 16 from 7 to 10 PM. Free to register, this event includes dinner and beverages, dancing with entertainment provided by Brass Pocket and SanCO Sound & Light, adaptive sport stations for guests to try, a brief program that illustrates all the incredible things you’ve made possible over the last year, and the presentation of the Motivator of the Year Awards and Equipment Grand Presentations. This event, which is taking place on Monday, March 25 at the DoubleTree Hotel, will honor Kevin Murphy with the Civitas award. 13th Annual Zackon 5K Run & Walk

The Oley Valley Community Education Foundation is hosting their annual 5K in memory of Dr. Jeffrey Zackon on Saturday, April 20, 2024. To learn more about this event and register, please click here! This is a one mile fun run, and participants are welcome to either run or walk. This in-person event will take place in the picturesque Oley Valley. The day-of-race registration table opens at 8 AM and the race begins at 9 AM. Fun Run will begin at 9:10 AM.

4th Annual Berks Street Art Festival

This event is taking place at the Reading-Muhlenberg Career & Technology Center, located at 2615 Warren Road in Reading and is presented by The Camel Project. The 28th Annual Chile Pepper Festival is taking place on Friday, September 6 and Saturday, September 7 this year at the William Delong Memorial Park in Bowers, PA.
