89th Annual Farmers’ Night

The Kutztown Rotary Club is hosting its 89th Annual Farmers’ Night on Wednesday, February 11 beginning at 5:30 PM at the Lyons Fire Company. This is an annual celebration of farming that has been held annually since 1938. At this dinner, the community shows their appreciation for local farmers and other agricultural producers and their economic impact in our community.

Dine to Donate to Support Fleetwood Area Public Library

Dine at Plaza Azteca in Blandon on Thursday, February 19 between 3 PM and 9 PM, and 10% of everyone’s bill (including takeout) will be donated to the Friends of the Fleetwood Area Public Library to support the Fleetwood Area Public Library. Every purchase supports the library’s activities for the patrons and citizens of the community.
KASMA Night of Music Kauffman’s BBQ Chicken Fundraiser

Enjoy a sit down dinner (which includes 1/2 BBQ chicken from Kauffman’s, a baked potato bar, garden salad, dinner roll, applesauce and bottled water) on Friday, February 27 at the Kutztown Area Middle School Commons from 5 to 8 PM. Guests will enjoy performances by KASD students, raffle prizes and a bake sale. Meals are $15 each, and there is an $8 admission fee for non-dining adults. All proceeds benefit the Kutztown Area School District Music Association. To go options are also available! The American Red Cross of Pennsylvania Rivers is hosting their annual fundraising event, The Pennsylvania Rivers Celebration of Heroes featuring the Berks County Heroes Breakfast on Friday, March 6 starting at 7:15 AM at the DoubleTree by Hilton Reading. This event is dedicated to honoring the everyday individuals who have demonstrated remarkable acts of courage and kindness, embodying the humanitarian spirit of the American Red Cross. This event will raise essential funds to support the lifesaving services provided by the American Red Cross in our community. Breakfast and networking will take place from 7:15 Am to 8 AM, and the Heroes program will start at 8 AM. The Kutztown Area School Music Association (KASMA) and the Kutztown Area School District are hosting the 2026 Kutztown Jazz Festival on Saturday, March 14 at 12 PM. Enjoy food, music, and raffle prizes. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for kids. This festival is considered one of the best in Berks County and showcases jazz musicians from school bands around the region.

Bring the heat to the West Reading Chili Cook-Off on Sunday, March 15 from 12 to 5 PM. The West Reading Community Revitalization Foundation looks forward to hosting this great event again. You get to be the judge as you sample over 20 different chilis from participating businesses and decide which is the best. This event is rain or shine and limited to the first 200 participants. Each year, they recognize an outstanding individual and a community partner who have demonstrated extraordinary dedication to BCHC’s mission through their time, talent and treasure. This year BCHC is honoring Donald Smith, a retired lawyer who played a key role in BCHC’s beginnings as one of their founders and also served on the Board. They are also recognizing The United Way of Berks County, who has played a key role in BCHC’s founding and has continued to support them in many ways throughout the years. Oley Valley Community Education Foundation’s Academy Awards of Excellence Gala

The Oley Valley Community Education Foundation is celebrating its 30th Anniversary in 2026 with the inaugural Academy Awards of Excellence Gala on Friday, March 27 from 6 Pm to 10 PM at The Berkshire Country Club. In addition to celebrating thirty years of positively impacting youth of the Oley Valley, Gary Weller, a graduate of Oley Valley High School, long-term resident, and founding member and former Trustee of OVCEF, will be honored. This gala will unite educators, supporters, and community members who are dedicated to enhancing the educational experience within the Oley Valley School District by helping to raise monies to fund annual scholarships and teacher education grants within the district through a silent auction and raffles. The 35th Annual Kutztown Fools Run

The Optimist Club of Kutztown is hosting their annual Fools Run on Saturday, March 28. The race will feature two distances: the Sally Miksiewicz Memorial 5K and the Bob Focht Memorial 10-mile run. There is also the Steve O’Neil Memorial two-mile walk, a non-competitive event. Enjoy a great day through the countryside of Kutztown to benefit the Donald Peters Memorial Scholarship Fund administered by the Optimist Club of Kutztown Foundation. Funds raised during this event will benefit high school seniors from the Brandywine Heights, Fleetwood Area, Kutztown Area and Hamburg Area School Districts. Opportunity House is hosting their Annual Golf Outing on Monday, June 22 at the Berkshire Country Club. Registration, networking and lunch will take place starting at 10:30 AM, with a shotgun start beginning at 12 PM. At 5 PM guests will enjoy a cocktail and award reception. Individual golfers can participate for $350 and a foursome is available for $1,400. Each golfer who participates will receive a round of golf, greens fee, use of locker room facilities, driving range and putting green, and a golf cart, as well as a boxed lunch, cocktail reception and awards ceremony. On Saturday, September 12 and Sunday, September 13 the Mohnton-Cumru Lions Club is hosting their sixth annual Music & Makers Market from 10 AM until 5 Pm at the Mohnton Memorial Park. Several big name bands will be playing a variety of music including blues, country, jazz and rock. Artisans and craftspeople from the Tri-County area will display and sell original handcrafted items, such as jewelry, pottery, textiles, woodwork, food and more. Other activities will include a cornhole tournament for adults and Magic in Mohnton’s playground area, a bouncy house, face painting, balloons and aK-9 presentation for the kids. This event is free and open to the public.

Rejoicing Spirits Services & Fellowship
First Sunday of Every Month
Rejoicing Spirits of Eastern Berks County invites anyone to attend their services and fellowship times on the first Sunday of every month at 3:00 PM at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ. Parking is located behind the church with an accessible entrance from the parking lot. All are welcome to each 30 to 40 minute, no-shush ecumenical worship service that enriches the lives of all people, especially the differently-abled, their caregivers, families and friends. Rejoicing Spirits includes music, playing musical instruments, joyous singing, opportunities to participate, brief and meaningful messages, and the chance to connect with others.
