El Boricuazo – 2nd Annual Event

Palo Magazine is hosting a vibrant, Puerto Rican cultural celebration on Saturday, September 19 at the GoggleWorks Center for the Arts Thorn Alley Stage in Reading, PA. El Boricuazo is a family-friendly event that celebrates Puerto Rican culture through live music, traditional dance, authentic cuisine, art, dominoes, and community engagement. The event brings together hundreds of attendees from throughout Berks County and surrounding communities while highlighting the rich heritage and contributions of the Puerto Rican community.

The Barnstormers In Concert

On Saturday, September 19 The Barnstormers will be performing a free concert at 7:30 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Kutztown. Night At The Museum

The Reading Public Museum is hosting their 14th Annual “Night At The Museum” on Saturday, September 19 from 6 to 9 PM. This signature fundraising event offers a spectacular celebration of the fall exhibition season. This year, the museum is excited to unveil the highly anticipated exhibition Rockwell / Wyeth: Icons of Americana, which will feature the work of two of the most celebrated figures in American art, whose vivid illustrations captured the imaginations of Americans throughout the 20th century and is still admired today. The event will take inspiration from these artistic icons of Americana with a 1940s-50s theme, encouraging attendees to step back in time to the post-WWII era of booming optimism, Saturday Evening Post covers, and the rise of middle-class suburban life. Tickets are available for purchase here and include all-American food stations, an open bar, silent auction, live music, antique cars, and era-inspired activities.

9th Annual Crime Alert Berks County Awards Breakfast

On Thursday, September 24, 2026 Crime Alert Berks County is celebrating another successful year of fighting crime at their 9th Annual Awards Breakfast. Taking place from 7:15 AM to 9:00 AM at the Redner’s Event Center at First Energy Stadium,  this event honors the recipients of the Barry E. Rohrbach President’s Award, which is being presented to Dr. Susan Looney. The Law Enforcement of the Year Award will go to Det. Robert Long. Alan Kline will receive the Lifetime Service Award. Michael H. Wise II Memorial 5K and 1/2 Mile Fun Run

The Michael H. Wise II Memorial 5K and 1/2 Mile Fun Run is taking place on Sunday, September 27 at Reading Area Community College. Registration opens at 9 AM, the 5K starts at 10 AM, and the 1/2 mile kids fun run begins around 11 AM. A race t-shirt is guaranteed to all 5K pre-entries. Late and day-of race entries will receive a t-shirt on a first come, first served basis. There is a small prize for kids who finish the fun run. Refreshments, great parking, time clock at finish, and instant results all make up this race. This event is being held rain or shine. No refunds or mailed awards. Results will be available at pretzelcitysports.com in 48-72 hours. The cost to enter the 5K is $35 if postmarked by September 7 and $40 after 9/7 and on race day. The cost for the kids fun run is $5. All proceeds benefit Michael H. Wise, II Memorial Foundation, which honors the life of fallen Reading City Police Officer, Michael H. Wise II, who died in the line of duty in June 2004. Questions? CONCERN’s Gift Card & Designer Bag Bingo

CONCERN is hosting their annual Gift Card & Designer Bag Bingo Fundraiser on Thursday, October 1 at the Fleetwood Grange.  Tickets are $25 and include 20 games of Bingo, a hot dog, drink and door prize ticket. On Saturday, October 3, guests will enjoy The Vince Rollins Duo from 1 to 4 PM and The Northkill Creek Band from 6 to 9 PM. This event is designed to educate the health curious, elevate the understanding of the health conscious, and raise community awareness of the importance of digestive health through the free exchange of information and resources. Annual Fleetwood Main Street Fair

The Annual Fleetwood Main Street Fair is taking place on Saturday, October 3 from 9 AM to 2 PM. All proceeds from this event are used for a scholarship fund that benefits two graduating seniors at Fleetwood, as well as in the form of a donation to a local nonprofit. In addition to multiple local vendors set up along main street, the day will also include delicious food, two bands performing throughout the day, an apple pie eating contest, and more! Gala of Light

CASA of Berks County is hosting their Gala of Light fundraiser on Saturday, October 3 at Building 24! The reception and silent auction will begin at 5 PM and entertainment, a live art auction presented by the Berks Art Alliance, and awards will start at 6 PM, ending at 8 PM. This special evening will honor Judge Arthur Grim with their Visionary Award and recognize Berks Hearing Officer, Narcy Hughes, with their Champion for Children Award. Special guests are the Ortiz Family who adopted Lucian and Alex. The family and two boys were guests of our 2024 Gala and are returning for our Forever Family Celebration. 2026 Oley Valley Community Education Foundation’s Golf Tournament

The Oley Valley Community Education Foundation is hosting their annual “Swing Fore Education” Golf Tournament at Golden Oaks Golf Course on Monday, October 5. St. Paul’s U.C.C. Guild is hosting their annual Takeout Pot Pie day on Friday, October 16 from 1 to 5 PM. Pot pie is $11 for a quart or $6 for a pint. St. Paul’s U.C.C. Guild is hosting their annual Pot Pie Supper, bake sale, and silent auction on Saturday, October 17 from 3:30 to 6:30 PM. The dinner is $13 for adults and children 5 and under are free. In addition to chicken pot pie, the dinner includes corn, coleslaw, bread and a roll, as well as drinks and desserts. Homemade baked goods will be for sale, and the church’s annual silent auction will take place, too. Tickets will be sold at the door, and the event is handicapped accessible.

Shrimp Night at the Shoemakersville Fire Company

Join the Shoemakersville Fire Company No. 1 for their delicious Shrimp Night from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM on the last Monday of every Month, unless it falls on a holiday! For $15 you will enjoy 1 pound of steamed shrimp and coleslaw. This popular monthly fundraiser has become a community favorite, with many attendees calling it the best steamed shrimp around! The event is open to both members and non-members, so bring your family, friends, and neighbors. This fundraising dinner is take out only; It’s as simple as getting in line and ordering from your car. No pre-order sales will be accepted, and the event always takes place rain or shine. Cash only, please. Proceeds from this event help fund life-saving equipment, training, and other resources needed to support Shoemakersville Fire Company’s emergency response mission. As a 100% volunteer organization, community support plays an important role in helping them continue serving the Shoemakersville Borough, Perry Township, and surrounding communities.

Rejoicing Spirits Services & Fellowship

First Sunday of Every Month

Rejoicing Spirits of Eastern Berks County invites anyone to attend their services and fellowship times on the first Sunday of every month at 3:00 PM at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ. Parking is located behind the church with an accessible entrance from the parking lot. All are welcome to each 30 to 40 minute, no-shush ecumenical worship service that enriches the lives of all people, especially the differently-abled, their caregivers, families and friends. Rejoicing Spirits includes music, playing musical instruments, joyous singing, opportunities to participate, brief and meaningful messages, and the chance to connect with others. Fleetwood’s Finest Spring Gala is back! This new tradition honors organizations and individuals who have made a lasting impression on Fleetwood. The Fleetwood Cadillac Award will be given to an organization for their extraordinary community service, and the Fleetwood Hometown Hero award will be awarded to local individuals who have made a significant, lasting impact or provided extraordinary service to the Fleetwood area. This event is taking place at the Fleetwood Fire Company Banquet Hall on Saturday, April 3, 2027. Tickets go on sale on September 16, which is the same time that the honorees will be announced.
