Fleetwood Recreation Board’s Sunday Concert Series
Sundays in June, July & August 17, 2025
Throughout the Summer, the Fleetwood Rec Board will be presenting their Annual Summer Concert Series at the Fleetwood Park bandshell. All concerts start at 6 PM on the following Sundays in June and July, with an additional new concert being added in August. These events are free and open to the public to attend. In the event of rain, the concert will take place the following Monday. 2025 Kempton Fair

The Kempton Fair, presented by and for the benefit of the Kempton Community Center, is taking place Thursday, June 12 – Saturday, June 14, 2025. The fair features livestock and other exhibits, a midway with kid and adult rides, games and food. There’s live music, fireworks, truck and tractor pulls, vendors, crafters and artisans, a beer and wine garden and more. The Kempton Fair is one of the Kempton Community Center’s largest fundraisers for the year which helps with capitalization projects among the buildings and grounds. The Kempton Community Center is a non-profit, completely volunteer organization providing recreation and events for the Kempton community and surrounding area.
15th Annual Taste of Kutztown Wine & Beer Festival

19th Annual Show of Wheels

The Fleetwood Rotary Club is hosting their 19th Annual Show of Wheels on Saturday, June 14 at the Fleetwood Community Park. Registration takes place from 8 AM to 11:30 AM, and judging takes place at Noon with awards to follow at 3 PM. This event is rain or shine! Attendees will also enjoy door prizes, 50 / 50 drawings, entertainment, food, a chance auction, and music by The Sound Factory. Take part in the Rubber Duck Race in the creek for just $5 per duck. Pre-registration for $15. Any registrations after Saturday, June 1 and the day of the show are $20. Pretzel City Rod & Custom Car Club’s 38th Annual Rod Run

Pretzel City Rod & Custom Car Club is hosting their annual Rod Run on Sunday, June 15 at the Oley Fairgrounds. Show times are from 9 AM to 3 PM, and all show cars and trucks are welcome! Registration is taking place from 9 AM to Noon, and the first 250 vehicles will receive dash plaques. This event is being hosted rain or shine, and 20×20 vendor spaces are available for $10 each. Guests will enjoy games for all ages, an auction, raffles, door prizes, a 50 / 50 drawing, and a DJ. Proceeds from this event benefit local charities. Pre-registration must be completed by June 10 and is $12. There is a cash drawing for all pre-registered vehicles, and you must be present to win! Registration the day of costs $15. 48th Annual Flag Day Concert

On Tuesday, June 15 at 7 PM be sure to stop by the Kutztown Community Park to enjoy the 48th Annual Flag Day Concert hosted by the Kutztown Community Choir. This event is held rain or shine in the park’s bandshell. An orchestra directed by Dustin Shirk, instrumental music teacher at Kutztown Area Middle School and High Schools, will open the musical portion of the program with selections of light classical and popular music. Students from Kutztown Area High School are being selected as soloists to perform numbers with the orchestra. The Kutztown Community Choir will present selections of popular music, both new and old. The patriotic theme for the evening will kick off with the presentation of the colors by the color guard of the Ray A. Master Post 217 Topton American Legion. Patriotic music during the evening will include a medley of songs entitled, “An American Tribute,” a medley of service songs: “Armed Forces Salute,” and Sousa’s popular, “Stars and Stripes Forever.”

80,000 Acre Celebration Banquet & Ball Game

The Reading Fightin Phils, are excited to partner with Berks County Agriculture, who will sponsor the America’s Classic Ballpark Commemorative Cup for the first 2,000 adults, on Wednesday, June 18, against the Hartford Yard Goats. First pitch for the game is at 7 p.m. The County of Berks, through its Department of Agriculture, will celebrate the strength and impact of the local agricultural industry with a special event on June 18, featuring the game and cup sponsorship, along with a recognition banquet at Redner’s Event Center. Agriculture contributes over $1 billion annually to Berks County’s economy, supporting key sectors such as farm supply and food manufacturing. To honor the industry’s importance and those who sustain it, the county will recognize preserved farm owners during the banquet.
Berks County is a leader in farmland preservation, ranking #2 in Pennsylvania and among the top in the nation. This year, the County reached a major milestone—80,000 acres of farmland permanently protected through the Agricultural Land Preservation Program. These efforts help ensure a sustainable future, secure local food systems, and protect the county’s agricultural heritage. The Berks County Farm Bureau will enhance the event with live farm animals and educational activities. They will be joined by the Berks County Dairy Princesses and representatives from the Berks County Fair, bringing added charm and community spirit to the celebration.

The 49th Annual Greater Governor Mifflin League Community Days is being held from Friday, June 27 to Saturday, July 5 at Governor Mifflin Intermediate School. This 9-day event is a legendary community fair that features food, games, rides and entertainment – including the spectacular fireworks finale. Best of all, admission is completely free! The Greater Governor Mifflin League is a nonprofit organization devoted to supporting the community. Since 1976, the GGML has given back to the community in the form of contributions to local fire companies, ambulance associations, scout troops, school projects, community projects, scholarships, and more. 2025 Fleetwood Community Carnival

The annual Fleetwood Community Carnival is taking place at the Fleetwood Park from Tuesday, July 15 – Saturday, July 19 this year. This carnival benefits many organizations throughout the Fleetwood area, such as the Fleetwood Fire Company, the Fleetwood Public Library, the Fleetwood Rotary Club and the Lions Club, to mention a few. The carnival includes amusement rides, great homemade food, entertainment, and cash bingo each night. Fireworks will take place on Friday, July 18, with a rain date of Saturday, July 19. Kutztown Day

Every year on the first Sunday in August, since 1907, the Borough of Kutztown has celebrated heritage, community, traditions, and our family and neighbors at the annual Kutztown Day Celebration in the Kutztown Park. The tradition has been continued from year-to-year by the concerted efforts of the Kutztown Day Committee. This year’s event is scheduled for Sunday, August 3. The event starts at 12:30 PM and will include community and civic groups with displays, first responders demonstrations, Bingo, a cake baking contest, cake walk, disc golf, cornhole games, Quoit tournament, games and rides for the youth. Multiple concerts are scheduled in the band shell, with food vendors and other displays culminating with a fireworks display to close the festivities around 9:15 PM.

The Hawk Mountain Council’s Shoot For A Cause

On Friday, August 22 the Hawk Mountain Council is hosting its Shoot For A Cause – Scout Style Trap Shoot at the South End Gun Club. The Shoot For A Cause, Trap Shoot, is a fun and competitive event to raise money to support the young women and men of the Hawk Mountain Council. It supports the leadership programs of Scouting in Berks and Schuylkill Counties. The day begins with a Novice Shooter Instruction Station at 10:00 am. Registration will also begin at 10:00 am, and at 11:30 am we will have an opening ceremony and a safety briefing. The competition will kick off after the briefing and be followed by an after-event reception, a raw bar, social time, and the awards ceremony. Each participant shoots a 75-target course, and we will finish the round with a Top Shooter event. Each shooter will receive a commemorative shooter gift, though ammo is not provided for this event.

Summer Parrot Daze

The Berks County Parrot Head Club is hosting Summer Parrot Daze on August 23 at Beverly Hills Beach Bar to benefit Hannah’s Hope Ministries. Founded in 2017, Hannah’s Hope ministries provides support for homeless single mother-led families in Berks County. Since their inception, they have welcomed over 96 women and their dependent children into their nurturing environment to help empower these families. Enjoy music from Noon to 8 PM with Caribbean Sunset Band from 12:30 to 3:30 PM and Jimmy and the Parrots performing from 4 to 8 PM. The Camel Project’s ChalkPalooza Event

The Camel Project, in collaboration with the City of Reading and Department of Public Works, is hosting their annual ChalkPalooza Event on Saturday, September 6 from 10 AM to 2 PM at Renninger’s Antique and Farmer’s Market. This chalk and bubble festival also includes a color run from 11 AM to 1 PM and car show, as well as music, magic, balloon art and more. Join the fun for a family friendly day of creativity and kindness! We invite participants of all ages to express themselves creatively in a safe, family-supportive environment. Chalk and bubbles are provided free. Pre-registration for chalk is free for all ages. It is not required. Their ability to offer ample services free of charge relies on the support of our community. They are hosting their third annual 5K Run / walk titled “It’s Okay To Not Be Okay” on Saturday, September 13 at 9:30 AM at Gring’s Mill Recreation Area. Rejoicing Spirits Services & Fellowship
First Sunday of Every Month
Rejoicing Spirits of Eastern Berks County invites anyone to attend their services and fellowship times on the first Sunday of every month at 3:00 PM at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ. Parking is located behind the church with an accessible entrance from the parking lot. All are welcome to each 30 to 40 minute, no-shush ecumenical worship service that enriches the lives of all people, especially the differently-abled, their caregivers, families and friends. Rejoicing Spirits includes music, playing musical instruments, joyous singing, opportunities to participate, brief and meaningful messages, and the chance to connect with others.
