Enjoy a sit down dinner (which includes 1/2 BBQ chicken from Kauffman’s, a baked potato bar, garden salad, dinner roll, applesauce and bottled water) on Friday, February 27 at the Kutztown Area Middle School Commons from 5 to 8 PM. Guests will enjoy performances by KASD students, raffle prizes and a bake sale. Meals are $15 each, and there is an $8 admission fee for non-dining adults. All proceeds benefit the Kutztown Area School District Music Association. To go options are also available! Come to the Fleetwood Area Public Library on Saturday, February 28th to enjoy a felting class! Those that register can either create their own design or make a St. Patrick’s Day bowl, which has a base and is about 7″ in diameter. Creators will pick their colors and design. The American Red Cross of Pennsylvania Rivers is hosting their annual fundraising event, The Pennsylvania Rivers Celebration of Heroes featuring the Berks County Heroes Breakfast on Friday, March 6 starting at 7:15 AM at the DoubleTree by Hilton Reading. This event is dedicated to honoring the everyday individuals who have demonstrated remarkable acts of courage and kindness, embodying the humanitarian spirit of the American Red Cross. This event will raise essential funds to support the lifesaving services provided by the American Red Cross in our community. Breakfast and networking will take place from 7:15 Am to 8 AM, and the Heroes program will start at 8 AM. The Hamburg Area Education Foundation is hosting its 2nd Annual Casino Night, Saturday, March 7 from 6 pm – 10 pm. Enjoy poker, blackjack, craps, roulette and money wheel. Connections Work, Connections in Action Career Fair is Monday, March 9, 2026 at 9:00 – 12:00 pm. This event helps connect employers with skilled workers. This career fair is open to all individuals seeking employment in the Berks Community with past or present justice involvement. The career fair will be held at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Reading. Join the PA Department of Banking and Securities and Senator Judy Schwank for Fraud Bingo, Tuesday March 10 from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the Fleetwood Borough Building. This program will help you spot and avoid financial frauds and scams. The Kutztown Area School Music Association (KASMA) and the Kutztown Area School District are hosting the 2026 Kutztown Jazz Festival on Saturday, March 14 at 12 PM. Enjoy food, music, and raffle prizes. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for kids. This festival is considered one of the best in Berks County and showcases jazz musicians from school bands around the region.

Bring the heat to the West Reading Chili Cook-Off on Sunday, March 15 from 12 to 5 PM. The West Reading Community Revitalization Foundation looks forward to hosting this great event again. You get to be the judge as you sample over 20 different chilis from participating businesses and decide which is the best. This event is rain or shine and limited to the first 200 participants. The Berks Community Health Center’s Annual Picture Berks Healthy event is taking place on March 16 this year from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at The Doubletree by Hilton in Reading. Each year, they recognize an outstanding individual and a community partner who have demonstrated extraordinary dedication to BCHC’s mission through their time, talent and treasure. This year BCHC is honoring Donald Smith, a retired lawyer who played a key role in BCHC’s beginnings as one of their founders and also served on the Board. They are also recognizing The United Way of Berks County, who has played a key role in BCHC’s founding and has continued to support them in many ways throughout the years. Time for Pot Pie! The 33rd Annual Pot Pie Benefit Dinner for 2026 is Sunday, March 22nd from 11:30 am to 3:00 pm at the Oley Valley Elementary School. Donations will benefit people in need in the Oley Valley School District & the Junior Class of OVHS. Donation: $15.00 for Adults, $6.00 for Children ages 4-10, and children under age four are free. Tickets can be purchased at Reppert’s Candy, Christman’s Meat Market, Oley Valley Feed Store, or available at the door.

The Oley Valley Community Education Foundation is celebrating its 30th Anniversary in 2026 with the inaugural Academy Awards of Excellence Gala on Friday, March 27 from 6 Pm to 10 PM at The Berkshire Country Club. In addition to celebrating thirty years of positively impacting youth of the Oley Valley, Gary Weller, a graduate of Oley Valley High School, long-term resident, and founding member and former Trustee of OVCEF, will be honored. This gala will unite educators, supporters, and community members who are dedicated to enhancing the educational experience within the Oley Valley School District by helping to raise monies to fund annual scholarships and teacher education grants within the district through a silent auction and raffles. The Fleetwood Area Public Library is hosting a Night at the Races, Saturday, March 28, at the Fleetwood Fire Company Social Hall. Doors will open at 6 pm with the first race beginning at 7 pm. The Optimist Club of Kutztown is hosting their annual Fools Run on Saturday, March 28. The race will feature two distances: the Sally Miksiewicz Memorial 5K and the Bob Focht Memorial 10-mile run. There is also the Steve O’Neil Memorial two-mile walk, a non-competitive event. Enjoy a great day through the countryside of Kutztown to benefit the Donald Peters Memorial Scholarship Fund administered by the Optimist Club of Kutztown Foundation. Funds raised during this event will benefit high school seniors from the Brandywine Heights, Fleetwood Area, Kutztown Area and Hamburg Area School Districts. The Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania are hosting the 2026 Take the Lead Berks County on Tuesday, April 14 at the Redner’s Event Center from 5 to 8 PM. This year, the theme is centered around the Girl Scouts highest awards and the Take Action projects produced by girls whose aim is to better their communities and the lives of others. The following four individuals will be honored at the event: Meggan Hannigan, AVP of Development Advancement at Alvernia University, Radha Pyati, PhD, Chancellor & Dean of Penn State University, Monica Reyes, VP for Programs & Initiatives at Berks County Community Foundation, and Karen Wang, MD, FAAP, Chief Medical Officer at Berks Community Health Center. For 25 years the Borough of Kutztown has sponsored a Summer “Concert Series in the Park“, with concerts running from late May to August. The concerts are held in the historic Kutztown Park bandshell, primarily on Saturday evenings, with a few weekday and Sunday concerts. These concerts are FREE and open to the public, with a variety of bands and music to appeal to different audiences. These free concerts provide the opportunity to listen (and dance) to music all summer long.

Opportunity House is hosting their Annual Golf Outing on Monday, June 22 at the Berkshire Country Club. On Saturday, September 12 and Sunday, September 13 the Mohnton-Cumru Lions Club is hosting their sixth annual Music & Makers Market from 10 AM until 5 Pm at the Mohnton Memorial Park. Several big name bands will be playing a variety of music including blues, country, jazz and rock. Artisans and craftspeople from the Tri-County area will display and sell original handcrafted items, such as jewelry, pottery, textiles, woodwork, food and more. Other activities will include a cornhole tournament for adults and Magic in Mohnton’s playground area, a bouncy house, face painting, balloons and aK-9 presentation for the kids. This event is free and open to the public.

On Sunday, September 13 the Blandon Lions Club is hosting their annual Gathering at the Grove. This is a free community event that includes live music, free food and ice cream. Three local bands will be playing this year: The Luke Hertzog Band, The Hannah Violet Trio, and Crow Hill Bluegrass.

Rejoicing Spirits of Eastern Berks County invites anyone to attend their services and fellowship times on the first Sunday of every month at 3:00 PM at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ. Parking is located behind the church with an accessible entrance from the parking lot. All are welcome to each 30 to 40 minute, no-shush ecumenical worship service that enriches the lives of all people, especially the differently-abled, their caregivers, families and friends. Rejoicing Spirits includes music, playing musical instruments, joyous singing, opportunities to participate, brief and meaningful messages, and the chance to connect with others.
